The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) is a centre for research and consulting on organic agriculture. FiBL's strengths are interdisciplinary research and the rapid transfer of knowledge from research to agricultural practice. FiBL has more than 15 years of experience in collecting data on organic agriculture and has a network of numerous experts from more than 170 countries that contribute to the data collection. The yearbook "The World of Organic Agriculture - Statistics and Emerging Trends", published by FiBL and IFOAM - Organics International, and the website www.organic-world.net document recent developments in global organic agriculture.
The World of Organic Agriculture
The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) has more than 15 years of experience in collecting data on organic agriculture.
Since 2000 FiBL has been in contact with 200 experts worldwide and has built a network of numerous experts from more than 170 countries that contribute to the data collection. The yearbook "The World of Organic Agriculture - Statistics and Emerging Trends", published by FiBL and IFOAM - Organics International, documents recent developments in global organic agriculture.

The International Trade Centre (ITC)
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint organization of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, which provides trade-related technical assistant. ITC's mission is to foster sustainable economic development and contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals in developing countries and countries with economies in transition through trade and international business development. ITC created Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD) a program that provides information on voluntary sustainability standards through the Standards Map. The main objective of T4SD overarching program is to strengthen the capacity of producers, exporters, policymakers, and private and public buyers to participate in more sustainable production and trade. Standards Map (www.standardsmap.org) is an online platform which enables its users to explore and compare sustainability standards, and build their roadmap towards sustainable trade.

ITC created Trade for Sustainable Development (T4SD) a program that provides information on voluntary sustainability standards through the Standards Map. The main objective of T4SD overarching program is to strengthen the capacity of producers, exporters, policymakers, and private and public buyers to participate in more sustainable production and trade.
Standards Map is an online platform which enables its users to explore and compare over 130 sustainability standards, and build their roadmap towards sustainable trade. Users include producers, manufacturers, brands, retailers, researchers and policymakers.

The State of Sustainability Initiatives (SSI)
The State of Sustainability Initiatives (SSI) project is a product of multi-stakeholder meetings (2003-2006) on sustainable commodities production and trade, facilitated by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) under the auspices of the Sustainable Commodity Initiative (SCI). The SSI seeks to enhance global understanding and learning about the role and potential of market-based voluntary sustainability standards (VSSs) such as eco-labels, sustainability standards and roundtables in the promotion of sustainable development. By providing objective, reliable and timely information on the characteristics, performance and market trends associated with voluntary sustainability standard, the SSI will facilitate more strategic decision-making and continual improvement across VSS.
The State of Sustainability Initiatives Review 2014 and further SSI publications
The State of Sustainability Initiatives Review 2014 https://www.iisd.org/system/files/pdf/2014/ssi_2014.pdf, published by SSI, provides a bird's-eye view of market and performance trends across 16 of the most prevalent standards initiatives operating across ten different commodity sectors. The Review represents one small effort toward strengthening our understanding of how voluntary sustainability standards are developing over time, both in terms of the systems they deploy and the market impacts that they have.
Since 2014, further commodity and sector-related reports have been published, which are available on the IISD/SSI webiste.
