About the Global Survey on Voluntary Sustainability Standards
The Global Survey on Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) is a streamlining and amplification of existing data collection processes for market data on Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), the International Trade Centre (ITC), and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL. The project started in 2014.
The activities are funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
The key objective of the Global Survey on Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) project is to maintain and develop further a system to collect, process and disseminate market data on Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) across all geographic regions. This data is an essential resource for decision makers in governmental administrations, development agencies, producers and exporters, NGOs and other actors of the international organic and sustainability standards sector by providing fast and easy access to current data via the internet.
